Syracuse Summer Pre-College: On-Campus, Online, and On-Location

Leadership for Social Change (Virtual)

Program Grades: Entering grades 10th-12th

Using a variety of digital platforms to highlight societies’ mutual interdependence and interconnectedness, this engaging two-week virtual program will be a way to unite students across the world and equip them with change-making skills, resiliency strategies, and civic knowledge to build connections, work collaboratively, and emerge as change agents who can inspire others.

Leadership for Social Change (Residential)

Join Tufts University’s Tisch College of Civic Life for an exciting, engaging, two-week summer program created for those who want to develop their leadership skills while making a difference in the world and in their communities.

Entrepreneurship & Innovation Bootcamp

This program is for high school students interested in learning how to solve big societal problems through new venture creation. Students will learn how to build a new venture from the ground up, whether it is a startup, small business, or non-profit.

Marketing Essentials

Tufts Marketing Essentials is a two-week immersive experience for high school students interested in learning marketing concepts and strategies that they can apply to their own lives and future careers.

Climate Resilience Institute

Program Grades: Entering grades 10th-12th OR Spring 2024 graduate

Topics in this program span from resilient water infrastructure to climate activism and environmental justice. Working in small teams, students will identify a socio-environmental research question, gather and analyze data on the subject, and synthesize their findings into a college-level capstone project.

Tufts Summer Accelerator

International Relations

Summer Journalism Academy

Program Grades: Varies by session

Engage with current faculty and practicing pharmacists, view experiments in the lab, and interact with current students to find out what it's like to be a pharmacy student at UMKC.

Accelerated Career Awareness Program (ACAP)

Program Grades: 10th - 12th

ACAP strives to increase the understanding of accounting and business career opportunities among high school students from underrepresented ethnic groups.

Wake Forest University Online Immersion Program 

Program Grades: 9th-12th grade

Wake Forest's Online Immersion Program allows students to explore their interests before college.

National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI-Y): Academic Year 

Program Grades: Born between August 30, 2005 - June 30, 2009

Through the NSLI-Y Academic year program, students will travel to a country of their choice for the duration of the academic school year.

National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI-Y): Summer Program 

Program Grades: 15-18 years old

For six weeks, selected students have the opportunity to study abroad in a country of their choice. Students take language classes every day while living with a host family.

Virtual National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI-Y) 

Program Grades: 15-18 years old

For novice language learners with an interest in other cultures, Virtual NSLI-Y is a 10-week program where students get to meet people from a specific culture and learn the language. Students meet in a virtual classroom for two, 90-minute sessions with another ten students and a language teacher.

Idyllwild Art Summer Teen Programs

Badger Precollege

Program Grades: High school students

Badger Precollege is an immersive college-prep program that allows students in grades 9-12 to take college-level courses in an area of interest of their choosing.

Kelly Young Women's Leadership Institute

Offers young women an introduction to business through workshops, and offers them the opportunity to design their own business case project.

Interlochen Arts Camp

Program Grades: Open to All Students (Limited Space)

The Interlochen Arts Camp is for students who want to study music, theatre, visual arts, creative writing, film and new media, dance, and interdisciplinary arts.


Application Deadline: Priority deadline: January 15, 2024; They will accept applications following the deadline until program enrollment is full.
Program Dates: Program Dates vary depending on how the length of stay. The dates are generally between range of June - August.
Program Costs: Costs vary depending on length of stay (ranging from one to six weeks). Check the website for more details. Financial aid is available in some cases.

Summer Stage

Program Grades: Rising 10th, 11th and 12th graders

The program offers a unique exposure to nontraditional methodologies of creating theatre, placing them in the dual role of writer and performer. Students work with professional playwrights, poets, directors, musicians and actors to explore the process of creating a unique performance.

Summer Scholarships - Scholastic Art & Writing Awards

Program Grades: Teens in grades 7–11 who receive a Gold or Silver Key are eligible to apply for a SAS Scholarship

The Scholastic Award Summer scholarship program proves teenagers who have been recognized by the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards for their artwork in order for them to partake in summer art programs on a full-tuition scholarship.

Program Costs: Entry Fee: $10 per individual entry/$30 per portfolio. Fees can be waived in the online portal.

CBYX (Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange)

Program Grades: High school students ages 15 to 18 ½ on August 1 of the program departure year 

The Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange (CBYX) scholarship is for motivated high school students who want to experience a culture and learn a language through a full immersion experience.The CBYX program additionally offers vocational and young professional scholarship opportunities; visit the Programs page to learn more. No German language study/knowledge is required to apply.

Telluride Association Summer Seminar (TASS)

This program prepares and inspires students to lead and serve through educational experiences rooted in critical thinking and a democratic community.

USC Bovard

This program is designed to assist you to gain admission to top-tier universities, navigate the complex admissions and financial aid process, explore potential careers and ignite professional passions, connect occupational goals to academic pursuits, provide an immersive residential experience on USC’s campus, & learn test-taking strategies and boost their entrance exam scores.

Bank of America Student Leaders

Program Grades: Juniors and Seniors

An opportunity to intern at local nonprofit organizations and serve the community as well as attend the Student Leaders Summit in Washington, D.C., to gain practical experience and advance employability skills.

Program Dates: You can expect your internship to begin shortly following the end of your school year. 8-week program, inclusive of the week spent at the Student Leader Summit in Washington, DC. The 2024 Summit will be held in Washington, DC at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City July 22-27, 2024.

University of Notre Dame Leadership Seminar

Program Grades: Juniors

Leadership Seminars is a competitive, 10-day program on Notre Dame's campus for academically talented students who show impressive leadership within their communities. Strong academic standing with solid extracurricular activities.

Bezos Scholar Program 

Program Grades: Juniors

Exceptional students participate in a leadership development program that amplifies youth voices and action. Scholars act on their passions and develop sustainable community change projects.

Japan-America Friendship Scholars

Program Grades: Born between April 1, 2006 - March 31, 2009

Students are able to apply for a six-week stay in Japan with a host family. Attending traditional tea ceremonies, practicing martial arts, and visiting local summer festivals are just some of the activities that YFU students to Japan may experience during their exchange.

Iowa Young Writers Studio

Program Grades: 10th-12th Grades

Workshops and seminars at the University of Iowa, with the goal to study and appreciate poetry and creative writing. In addition to sharing writing and receiving criticism from teachers and peers, students also attend readings and other literary events.

Arkansas Governor's School

Program Grades: Rising Seniors

The Arkansas Governor’s School is a four-week summer residential program for upcoming high school seniors who are residents of the state of Arkansas. Students are selected on the basis of their special aptitudes in one of the nine fields: Choral Music, Development Engineering, Drama, English/Language Arts, Instrumental Music, Mathematics, Natural Science, Social Science, and Visual Arts.

Anson L. Clark Scholars Program

Program Grades: Must be at least 17 years old and a Junior or Senior

Get hands-on practical research experience with outstanding and experienced faculty at Texas Tech University.

PSJP

The Princeton Summer Journalism Program (PSJP) offers a free, year-long college preparation and journalism program for high school juniors from limited-income backgrounds.

AAJA JCamp

Camp at Cronkite

Program Grades: High school students

Camp Cronkite is where high schoolers from across the country come to grow their media skills—and get a taste of college! Students leave with real media skills and work to bolster (or kickstart!) their professional portfolios.

High School Summer Institutes at WashU

Program Grades: Current Sophomore or Junior

High School Summer Institutes allow students to discover a new passion, or dive deeper into an existing one, through a noncredit, interdisciplinary environment. The 2024 institute themes include: Ancient Studies, Creative Immersion, Healthcare Continuum, Environmental Studies, and Research Development.

University of Pennsylvania Leadership in the Business World Program

Program Grades: Juniors

LBW offers opportunities to learn about leadership in 21st century organizations through a dynamic and rigorous mix of classes with Wharton professors and business leaders, real-time business simulations, and team-building activities.

Arkansas Model Government

Program Grades: High school students & up

The Academy for Public Service was created to create a new class of leaders that are focused on solving problems. Having political parties is not allowed. It was created to teach civic engagement, public service leadership, ethics in public service, and to teach people how to maintain our democracy.

ALA Arkansas Girls State

Program Grades: Current 11th Graders, Rising Seniors

This program is a civics education program for young women. Students participate in mock government. The program is designed to offer practical instruction on the duties and responsibilities both of a citizen and of public officials.

Life Launch @ Hendrix

Program Grades: Rising Juniors and Seniors

Life Launch features mentoring and teaching from Hendrix College faculty and staff as well as professionals in their fields. Students get to explore college life, future possibilities, and how to navigate roadblocks.

Program Costs: Families may choose the tuition amount that is most suitable for them. Regardless of what amount you choose, the amenities, activities, and experiences are the same.

Kenyon Review Young Writers Workshop

Program Grades: Sophomore or Junior AND/OR ages 16-18

Young writers are provided with a dynamic and supportive environment in which they can expand their talents, discover new strengths, and challenge themselves in the company of peers who are also passionate about writing.
