Please familiarize yourself with available programs so you can identify your interest, know the requirements, and be ready to apply when application is published and/or comes back around the following year.

Syracuse Summer Pre-College: On-Campus, Online, and On-Location

Program Grades: Ages 15+

Take classes online, on-campus, or on-location through Syracuse University.

Program Costs: $65 application fee; merit scholarships, need-based scholarships, and discounts available. Costs vary depending on program.

SMFA Graphic Design Bootcamp
Program Grades: Entering grades 10th-12th OR Spring 2024 graduate

Students spend a week this summer diving into the Adobe Creative Cloud software tools, hearing from professional graphic designers, and exploring the intersection of liberal arts and art education.

Program Costs: $2,000; limited need-based scholarships are available

SMFA Studio Art

Program Grades: Entering grades 10th-12th OR Spring 2024 graduate

Over the course of the program, you will participate in foundation classes that will blur the lines between disciplines. Led by a team of qualified artists and educators, students will get instruction on advancing technical skills, such as drawing, painting, sculpture, and animation.

Cornell Precollege Summer Programs

Program Grades: Rising high school juniors and seniors; age 15+

Get a head start on college by earning credits.


Application Deadline: May 5, 2024
Program Dates: June 3, 2024 - August 6, 2024
Program Costs: $1,750 per credit hour (Limited financial aid available)

Ringling College of Arts & Design

Program Grades: Students ages 16-18 & 10th-12th grades

During this four-week intensive program, students follow a robust curriculum of core classes for fundamental skill building, as well as two selected immersions for a deeper investigation of areas reflective of their interests in the College’s 13 degree programs.


Application Deadline: May 10, 2024 or when the program is full
Program Dates: June 23, 2024 - July 20, 2024
Program Costs: $6,600 + the $300 refundable deposit. Need-based financial assistance is available. Applications for Financial Aid closes March 3, 2024.

Summer Art Workshop at Murray State University

Program Grades: Rising freshmen to recent high school graduates

Summer Art Workshop is for both first-timers and experienced artists. Jump into hands-on seminars, visit galleries, and participate in fun art-related activities in the evenings. At the end of the week, family and friends are invited to see your works displayed in a gallery during our closing ceremony.

Program Costs: $125 nonrefundable deposit required at registration (Limited number of partial scholarships available - Applications for scholarships due by April 12, 2024)

Colorado Pre-College Program

Program Grades: Rising high school juniors and seniors

Have the Colorado College experience while also working towards college credit.


Application Deadline: March 1, 2024 (or July 1, 2024 with application fee)

Program Dates: July 8-24, 2024

Program Costs: $6,983-$7,009 (plus an application fee if submitted after March 1st)

artWAYS

Program Grades: Juniors and Seniors

artWays is a residential summer program that offers immersive classes and workshops in various subjects of art, such as sketchbook making, jewelry and metalsmithing, and copper plate etching.

Idyllwild Art Summer Teen Programs

Summer Art Youth Classes

Badger Precollege

Program Grades: High school students

Badger Precollege is an immersive college-prep program that allows students in grades 9-12 to take college-level courses in an area of interest of their choosing.

Interlochen Arts Camp

Program Grades: Open to All Students (Limited Space)

The Interlochen Arts Camp is for students who want to study music, theatre, visual arts, creative writing, film and new media, dance, and interdisciplinary arts.


Application Deadline: Priority deadline: January 15, 2024

They will accept applications following the deadline until program enrollment is full.
Program Dates: Program Dates vary depending on how the length of stay. The dates are generally between range of June - August.
Program Costs: Costs vary depending on length of stay (ranging from one to six weeks). Check the website for more details. Financial aid is available in some cases.

Summer Stage

Program Grades: Rising 10th, 11th and 12th graders

The program offers a unique exposure to nontraditional methodologies of creating theatre, placing them in the dual role of writer and performer. Students work with professional playwrights, poets, directors, musicians and actors to explore the process of creating a unique performance.

Pre-College ArtLab (PCAL)
Program Grades: Rising Sophomores to Graduating Seniors

Students can apply for PCAL and be placed in one of five studios to study and explore the topic (Animation, Ceramics, Illustration, Painting and Product Design) in Kansas City Art Institute. In addition to their chosen studios, all students will participate in sessions in other areas, including art history and life drawing.

Arkansas Governor's School

Program Grades: Rising Seniors

The Arkansas Governor’s School is a four-week summer residential program for upcoming high school seniors who are residents of the state of Arkansas. Students are selected on the basis of their special aptitudes in one of the nine fields: Choral Music, Development Engineering, Drama, English/Language Arts, Instrumental Music, Mathematics, Natural Science, Social Science, and Visual Arts.

Drama - Pre-College Programs - Carnegie Mellon University

Program Grades: 16+ and Sophmore or Junior

Pre-College Drama is a six-week residential program that offers training and preparation for college auditions and interviews within an acclaimed drama conservatory.

Art - Pre-College Programs - Carnegie Mellon University

Program Grades: 16+ and Sophmore or Junior

Students will be introduced to the spirit and substance of the Carnegie Mellon University School of Art through challenging courses, individual critique, stimulating workshops, portfolio development, and energetic interaction with dedicated faculty and talented peers.

Architecture Discovery Program at WashU

Program Grades: Sophomores and Juniors

The Architecture Discovery Program (ADP) is an exciting introduction to architecture and design for high school students. This program also includes field trips to some of the best museums, galleries, and historic sites in the city and explore the dynamic art + design scene in St. Louis.

Program Costs: Estimated cost is $4,091 ($250 non-refundable deposit due by May 1, 2024) Scholarship assistance is available up to the full cost of tuition.

Portfolio Plus Program at WashU

Program Grades: Sophomores and Juniors

Students will learn the fundamentals of drawing pursue a studio concentration of their choice: communication design, fashion design, or studio art. Studio work is rounded out by field trips, tours, and lectures from local artists and designers, as well as a workshop on college admissions.

Loyola Marymount University Pre-College Program 

Program Grades: 9th-12th grade

Take non-credit or college credit courses for 2-4 weeks at Loyola Marymount University. Students can choose between online or on-campus courses.
